Few have been able to escape Jack the Ripper’s clutches.
He doesn’t seek out the wealthy or the wise, however. Instead, he preys on penny prostitutes and fallen women. Only the cunning will escape the malicious and vicious stabs from his knife.

What to Expect (or not) While Playing this New Escape Room in Red Bank
The Aesthetic of Ripper of London
This Jack the Ripper Escape Room is multi-room sleuthing adventure. Our game is fashioned after the noir aesthetic, a genre of film popularized in the 1940s and the 1950s.
Noir Aesthetic
Prior to this the tropes of sexual violence first reared their head during the Great Depression with the popularity of crime fiction. In turn, crime fiction and noir aesthetic are based on actual transgressions of passion.
Why Did Noir Thrive?
Prior to the doldrums of the Depression years, the golden age of detective fiction thrived pitting interesting characters against an opportunistic detective in a glamorous setting. The noir aesthetic has never waned in popularity since its introduction into the world of entertainment. In fact, it continues to fascinate people more than half a century later.
Escape Jack the Ripper and Theming
The stark lighting and existential philosophy of our escape the ripper experience are hallmarks of the style. This is because both focus on pessimism, sexuality, and violence. Our new Red Bank escape room experience is macabre and racy and features nudity portraying Jack the Ripper’s conquests.
Ages 17+
Truly not a game for children or the faint hearted, Ripper of London has an age restriction of 17+ due to adult content.
Behind the Scenes of the Jack the Ripper Escape Room
Escape Jack the Ripper on Valentine's Day
The opening of Jack the Ripper Escape Room falls on February 14th. Originally this date fell in the middle of the three-day Roman Feast of Lupercalia which was a fertility festival.
What is the Feast of Lupercalia
The festival was observed with celebrations of drunken dancing and lascivious behavior, among other lewd behavior. The festival concluded with naked men running through the streets welding whips with which to indiscriminately whip women. In other words, it is important to note this was not a celebration of love, but instead one of unbridled passion for better or worse.
Escape the Ripper or be His Bloody Valentine
Make no mistake, it is not a coincidence that Ripper of London opened on Valentine’s Day. As lore has it, the crimes of Jack the Ripper were propelled by a lustful heart.

History
The idea came to Tone Purzycki back in 2011 after he wrote a screenplay that developed into a live-streaming game. The game revolved around an actor trapped in a situation and the audience had to solve puzzles to figure out where he was trapped. The “Find Me Event” had more than 1,000 people playing over the course of several hours. After the success of several other streaming events, the idea of an escape room was born.

Each location has different rooms from which to choose. Our Morristown location is home to Day of the Dead, Witch Hunt, and The Greatest Freakshow.
