Everest
Everest challenges players to do what few have done before and then some- tackle Mt Everest and rescue a lost research team. Our Everest is such a chilling experience that it is a Bronze Winner for Best In-Person Escape Room.
Recently, a climate research team set out to conquer the mountain and to uncover the hidden secrets surrounding its fabled weather. Now, however, communication with the team has ceased.
Puzzles and Corks

This BYOB experience is constantly changing and has your party solving puzzles of all types to complete your mission while enjoying your wine of choice. Make sure you book your experience in advance to guarantee your spot– Book online HERE!
In Conclusion. . .
Solve puzzles, scream, and hope you can save the children within the one hour time limit. With three levels of fear to choose from, even the biggest fraidy-cat can have a great time.

2. Play a range of arcade and video games at Yestercades:
Before you tackle the climb up Everest, warm up your brain with some light-hearted games at Yestercades!

Yestercades is the perfect opportunity to start getting the gears in your brain spinning long before you get to Trap Door!
3. Grab Dinner Before Your Game
While Red Bank has a lot of great dining places (really, they’re all pretty amazing and within walking distance), for an easy, delicious dinner, try Robinson Ale House.
What They Offer
This classic American pub with all of your favorite foods is at the top of our list. With beautiful outdoor seating in the summer and a cozy interior for the winter, Robinson Ale House is a great choice for dinner and a beer to prepare for your escape room experience.
With gluten-free and vegan options and a varied menu, there’s lots of options to choose from to satisfy your stomach. Of course, for those that just want a simple meal, you can never go wrong with a classic burger.
JBJ Soul Kitchen
If you’re looking for a more unique dining experience, connect with one of New Jersey’s favorite musicians, Jon Bon Jovi, at JBJ Soul Kitchen! This community restaurant, run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, prides itself for being a place where everyone is welcome to enjoy a delicious, hot meal.
How They Operate
Instead of paying for your meal, they simply ask that you make a donation, and in return you’ll receive a 3-course meal of American cuisine. This non-profit restaurant helps make a difference by feeding both those that can afford a meal and those who can’t, as well as providing a warm space for all.
If you’re particularly interested in their mission, you can even help out by volunteering in the kitchen! For more information, visit their website HERE!
Not in the mood for either of those? Feel free to stop by the Trap Door Escape Room building to ask our staff for suggestions of other local places!
4. Save Some Room for Dessert
While Red Bank certainly has a variety of amazing sweet shops and bakeries (and if you have the time, you should absolutely check them out), for a great dessert you should try Cupcake Magician.
Who They Are
These out of the ordinary cupcakes have succeeded in distinguishing themselves with their crazy, but delicious, ideas. Their cakes have won six awards throughout New Jersey for their delectable taste and plentiful options of flavors. With over fifty varieties of cupcakes, ranging from crazy toppings to traditional cakes to seasonal items, you’re sure to find something that delights your taste buds.
Our Recommendation
Of course, we do have to recommend their stuffed cupcakes for those with a sweet tooth that is never quite satisfied, as with these cakes they fill the cupcake itself with icing in addition to the standard icing on top.
5. Treat Yourself to Some Drinks
Once you’ve finished at Trap Door Escape Room, go grab some drinks for a fun night out on the town! Whether you’re celebrating your victory or mourning your defeat, these bars are sure to raise your spirits.
West on the Navesink

Take a Relaxing Stroll
A nice day in the park is always a great mood-lifter, which can help you to relax before or after you work on solving puzzles with Trap Door. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the grass, sit for a while and watch the boats, or let your kids run free around this 2-acre park.

Trap Door Escape Room has 4 locations: 3180 Route 611 in Bartonsville, PA in the Poconos; 60 White St. in Red Bank, NJ; 34A Speedwell Ave. in Morristown, NJ: and 77 Wind Creek Blvd in Bethlehem, PA. The Red Bank location was the first of the 4 locations, opening in the fall of 2015. Morristown followed in the summer of 2017, and Bartonsville opened during the holiday season of 2018. Wind Creek is currently undergoing construction and will be opening in September 2022.
History
The idea came to Tone Purzycki back in 2011 after he wrote a screenplay that developed into a live-streaming game. The game revolved around an actor trapped in a situation and the audience had to solve puzzles to figure out where he was trapped. The “Find Me Event” had more than 1,000 people playing over the course of several hours. After the success of several other streaming events, the idea of an escape room was born.
Location
Each location has different rooms from which to choose. Our Morristown location is home to Day of the Dead, Witch Hunt, and The Greatest Freakshow. In Bartonsville, you’ll find Cure Z, F5 Tornado Escape, Fear the Bogeyman, Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, We’re All Mad Here, and Prisoner Z. In Red Bank we currently have Everest – our first 2 story escape room. Ripper of London is also available at this location. Our pirate themed games will soon be open at Wind Creek.
Trap Door Escape Room also offers team building, streaming events, and birthday parties. For more information on any of our games, prices, and locations, explore our website or call 570-234-3366
